Tangerine Tango

Ever wonder how everyone in the fashion world seems to be on the same page at all time? Do you ever think there's some super secret overlord that silently dictates the year's what's hot and what's nots? If you have ever wondered any of these things, you would be absolutely correct.

Pantone, a corporation headquartered in New Jersey, of all places, has been charged with creating, naming, and announcing each season's signature color. This year's? None other than the super sunny Tangerine Tango.

Past colors include Turquoise, Violet Tulip, and last year's Honeysuckle. This year's bright red-orange has been popping up everywhere. From home decor, to make up, to of course, New York Fashion Week. Let's take a look at some tangy examples shall we?

Color blocking hit the fan as an inescapable trend last year and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. With such a bold color like tangerine, take pointers from Charlotte Ronson, Tommy Hilfiger, Peter Som, and Darek Lam (from L-R) and go big or go home. The only rule with pairing tangerine tango is that whatever shade you choose, just make sure it's equally bright and bold.
